Keeling Schaefer Vineyards
Downtown Wilcox, Railroad Park Tasting Room is open
Wednesday - Sunday 11-5
Keeling Schaefer Vineyards was established in 2000
when Jan Schaefer and Rod Keeling purchased 18 acres
on Rock Creek in far Southeastern Arizona. Long time
Tempeans, Jan worked as the Economic Development
Director for the City and Rod was the President of the
Downtown Tempe Community.
The winery was built in 2003, the Home Place vineyard
was planted in 2004. In 2007, Roger and Judy Egan,
former owners of McDuffy’s Sports Bar in Tempe, became
partners with Rod and Jan in a new 12 acre vineyard on
Rock Creek. The winery received it’s federal and state
licensing in 2005 and began sales in 2007.
Rod and Jan retired from their positions in Tempe and
built a house on the vineyard in 2008, which they now call
home. Keeling Schaefer Vineyards is a 100% estate
winery with 21 acres of vineyard and an on-vineyard
winery that produces 3000+ cases a year. KSV wine is
sold in over 200 retailers and restaurants throughout
Arizona and KSV wines are among the highest rated
Arizona wines by Wine Spectator.
In 2010, Rod and Jan rehabilitated the 1917 Willcox Bank
and Trust building on historic Railroad Avenue in Willcox
and opened an in-town tasting room.
The tasting room is open W-Sun, 11-5.
